How much does dog grooming cost in Bucharest, and when is your dog ready?

Grooming prices in Bucharest range from 120 to 600 RON. Here are Metronome's four services with their prices, durations, and what to ask any groomer before you book.

Dog grooming prices in Bucharest range from 120 RON for a quick hygiene trim to 600 RON for specialist coat work. At Metronome, the first thing we give you is a ready-by time. Here is what you can expect to pay, how long each service takes, and what questions to ask any groomer before you book.

How much does dog grooming cost in Bucharest?

Bucharest has at least eight grooming salons, according to Pawmi's local directory. Published prices at Blu Pet Salon run from 120 RON to 600 RON, depending on the service and dog size. Silver Grooming starts at 120 RON. These are published list prices; the final price at any salon can vary by dog size, coat condition or add-ons.

At Metronome, our prices are:

ServicePriceWhat's included
Quick Tidy120-180 RONHygiene trim, paws, nails
Splash and Go200-300 RONBath, blow-dry, brush-out, nails, ears
Full Groom, Ready-By280-450 RONBath, blow-dry, cut or style, nails, ears, scented finish
Coat Specialist350-600 RONDe-shedding or hand-stripping, by appointment

Price scales by dog size. A small dog costs less than a large one for the same service.

How long does each groom take?

This is where Bucharest grooming varies a lot. Many salons ask you to drop off your dog in the morning and pick up in the afternoon, without a specific time. Metronome is built around the opposite: a pickup time told to you when you book.

Quick Tidy: 30 minutes. Hygiene trim, paw tidy and nails. It is our only 30-minute promise, and the most common first visit for dogs who have never been groomed before.

Splash and Go: 45 minutes. Full bath, blow-dry, brush-out, nails and ears. Good for dogs who are already well-groomed and just need a wash and tidy.

Full Groom, Ready-By: 60 to 90 minutes. Our lead service. Bath, blow-dry, full cut or breed style, nails, ears and scented finish. You get the exact ready-by time when you book, not when you drop off.

Coat Specialist: by appointment. De-shedding or hand-stripping takes as long as it takes. We do not promise a time for this one, because rushing a double coat or a wire coat causes more coat problems than it solves.

What to expect at booking: for Quick Tidy, Splash and Go and Full Groom, you get a specific ready-by time. For Coat Specialist, we agree a window with you before the appointment.

What to ask any groomer about pickup time

Before you book with any Bucharest groomer, these four questions are worth asking:

1. When will my dog be ready? "We'll call you" is not a time. A good answer names a specific hour, or a window of one to two hours, at the moment of booking. If the answer is "depends on how busy we are," you will spend your afternoon guessing.

2. What is the price for my dog's size and coat? Most Bucharest salons charge by dog size and coat type. A standard poodle and a toy poodle are not the same price. Get the specific figure, not a range, before you drop off.

3. How do you handle anxious dogs? A groomer who works quickly on nervous dogs often makes the anxiety worse over time. Ask whether they offer shorter, calmer sessions for dogs who are new to grooming. The Quick Tidy's 30-minute format was designed exactly for this.

4. Is your price list online? Salons that publish prices save you the back-and-forth. Blu Pet Salon publishes its full tier list on its website. Metronome's price list is on the home page.

Frequently asked questions

Does dog grooming price depend on breed? Partly. Size is the main driver: a larger dog takes more time and product. Coat type matters too. A double-coated breed or a breed that needs hand-stripping costs more than a short-coated dog of the same weight.

How often should I groom my dog in Bucharest? Most short to medium-coated dogs do well with a groom every 6 to 8 weeks. Longer coats and fast-growing breeds like poodles or Bichon Frise need a slot every 4 to 6 weeks to avoid matting.

What is a Standing Slot? At Metronome, a Standing Slot means you rebook the same day and time every 4 to 6 weeks. It gives you 10% off Full Groom and Splash and Go, and it means your dog always has a slot, even when the calendar is full.
